CROSS CURRICULAR ART/HUMANITIES TRIP TO THE TOWER AT WALTON-ON-THE NAZE
I am writing to inform you about an exciting trip, which is taking place on:
DATE: Monday 9 July
DEPARTURE: 9.00 am from Mile End Campus
RETURN: 3.00 pm to Mile End Campus
We shall be taking a group of students including your son/daughter to the Tower at Walton-On-the Naze, and the Essex Wildlife Trust. This is a cross curricular trip for Art and Humanities.
The activities will start with a talk from the Essex Wildlife Trust about their site on the Naze, plus a variety of activities including Orienteering and Fossil Hunting.
There will be a visit to the Tower, where the students will view an exhibition of work by artists of the region. This includes a wide variety of mediums, such as ceramics, painting, photography and print making. The curator will give a talk on the history of the tower and the battle to save the Naze, from sea erosion.
Students need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the day, as we may also be walking on the beach. It could be cold, so please ensure your child has a warm jacket. There is no charge to you for the trip and lunch will also be provided.
I am sure your son/daughter will benefit from the day and be enriched by the experience.
Please ensure that you complete the enclosed reply slip giving consent for your son/daughter to attend this trip, which must be returned by Monday 2 July.
