The Endeavour Co-operative Academy selected for the National School Rebuilding Programme

The government has named the 50 schools chosen in the second round of its national school rebuilding programme and Keys Co-operative Academy Trust are extremely pleased that the Endeavour Co-operative Academy, our Special School in Brentwood, has been selected as one of the schools to benefit from this.

The Endeavour Co-operative Academy was built over 50 years ago for far fewer pupils than the school currently supports. The school has seen various temporary solutions over the years to deal with additional the additional capacity demands, but despite the school’s best efforts to expand and maintain the estate, the main school building is now no longer fit for the future needs of the the school. The main school block and temporary classrooms have now far exceeded their original planned life-expectancy and it is no longer economically viable to continue significant capital investment to these buildings to maintain them in the longer term.

Keys Co-operative Academy trust will be working closely with the school rebuilding teams at the Department For Education to develop a brief for the new school building, which is hoped to be completed in 2024.
